We're spoiled for choice here in Dublin when to comes to places to eat and drink but if you're hankering for a change of scene lately, then you're in luck.
A new wave of cool bars and restaurants have popped up over the last few weeks and months, meaning you have a whole new host of excuses to ignore the boring contents of your fridge and treat yourself instead!

Hidden city centre address
We recently fell head over heels in love with Dublin's newest speakeasy from the people behind Pacinos and The Blind Pig.

Tara Street
If you've ever visited the ruin bars of Budapest, then you'll know just how deadly they are.
Ruin Bar on Tara Street is the latest venture from the cool crew from The Camden Exchange and we love it so much we've returned more times than we can afford to in the last month.
Lined with cool murals and artistic designs, Dublin 2 has bagged a deadly little pub in the haven that is Ruin.
Our top tip? Try the crispy Halloumi Fries. Your life will never be the same.
Essex Street
A beautiful addition to the Quays, Roberta's opened earlier during the summer - serving up delish Italian inspired dishes like wood-fired duck hearts, braised beef pot stickers and braised fennel in a gorgeous loft-style space.
The Orecchiette pasta with roasted pork mince, chicken sauce and swiss chard is the winner here.
Don't even get us started on their cocktails...
South William Street / Dame Street
These guys aren't new - but as of this week they are in new locations.
Crackbird took over BEAR's space at 34/35 South William Street and Skinflint moved from its tiny alleyway on Crane Lane in Temple Bar into where Crackbird once lived on Dame Lane.
Same great grub - just in new spaces. Perfect to check out this weekend.
Chancery Place
Perched along they quays of Dublin 7, The Legal Eagle has begun trading as an unusually traditional old English pub, in Dublin city centre.
Expect a meaty, old-fashioned style pub menu for downstairs in the bar area serving classical, unadorned food from another era serving things like whole dover and chateaubriand.
Dinner showcases unusual delights such as roasted bone marrow, rump heart, cauliflower rarebit, Shropshire Blue souffle and roasted-buttered turnip tops to name but a few.
Essex Street
Step out of the bustling cobblestone streets of Temple Bar and down the stairs to Tomahawk where beautiful windows leak in light from street level, this is an intimate and unique dining setting - and their steaks are the star of the show.
Their buttery champ, crispy fries and Chimichurri sauce are the stuff of dreams.
And, of course, their steaks are off the charts.
Hawkins Street
TRAMLINE is a new Dublin location "to hangout by day, an event space, a conference centre and a live venue by night" in the heart of Dublin City.
With a capacity of 1,000 people, there's two separate bar areas and a pizza oven eatery complete with red brick alcoves.
TRAMLINE will be a coffee spot for hot desking and chilling by day, and before you know it the lights have gradually dimmed and the music is banging: it's full on club time from 11pm.
