Take Back The City - Dublin have been hitting the headlines in the last 24 hours following the occupation of a building on Frederick Street.
The group who are behind the protest, described last night how armed Gardaí were protecting the men and that pepper spray was being used as the situation escalates.
A number of activists were arrested and one was hospitalised as the protesters moved on to Store Street.
The group are a network of 18 grassroots groups working together to take direct action against those who perpetuate the housing crisis.
And on their journey around Dublin's Mountjoy Square, they came across a doorway entry that honestly made them shocked.
A ladder, a bloody ladder is needed to get up as far as the door in order to gain entry.
Health and Safety, what's that?
The group in the Facebook post - if the picture isn't showing in the article you can find it there - said that they "were out door knocking around mountjoy sq on Sunday, hearing the stories of people hit by the housing crisis & asking what does the community want for our newly opened buildings?
"Tenants invited us in to see some of the conditions they face and what we found shocked us.
"Slum landlords, are profiting off hundreds of buildings like this, packing 5-10 to a room and charging 300-500 per person & councils are overcrowding flats, while leaving buildings boarded up.
"Take Back The City - Dublin are here to support these tenants and fight back."
Nobody should have to enter their 'home' by doing this, ever.
