More information has been released about the brutal attack that took place in a Bray Gym on Tuesday morning.
World Champion Katie Taylor's dad Pete Taylor was among three men who were shot at Bray Boxing Club on Tuesday morning, one was fatally injured.
Pete, who set up the boxing club, had organised the event that was being attended in the morning when the attack took place.
The Irish Times is reporting that Pete Taylor was in fact the intended target of the gunman.
Ian Britton, a 35-year-old from Greystones in Co Wicklow was at the gym for the morning workout alongside Taylor (57) when the attack took place and Gardaí named the 50-year-old deceased male as Robert Messett.
Gardaí believe that Taylor may have been previously caught up in a dispute with drug dealers from West Dublin and that the attack could have stemmed from there.
However, there is no suggestion that Taylor or anyone involved with the shooting had been involved in any criminal wrongdoing.
In a statement, Gardai said that they wished to "trace the movements of the silver coloured Volkswagen Caddy van with Northern Irish registration used in the shooting."
It is believed that this van travelled from Bray through Shankill and the Cornelscourt area before being abandoned on Pigeon House Road at approximately 8.05am where a male was seen leaving the van and cycling away.
