Here’s How Much Local Property Tax You Will Pay In Each Part Of Dublin

For those of you who don't know, Local Property Tax or LPT is a self-assessed tax charged on the market value of a residential property or properties. 

Anyone who is liable for LPT must pay it ever year. All you need to find out how much your LPT on your property is worth is the following:

• Property identification (ID) number
• PIN number for accessing your LPT account
• Personal Public Service Number (PPSN) or Tax reference number.

Each property has unique property ID and PIN numbers for access to your LPT account. These numbers are quoted on official correspondence and should be retained and used in all LPT correspondence. 

And if you need to request a property ID and PIN number, enter your PPSN or Tax Reference Number when you Login to LPT online.

A new report by The Local Property Tax for 2017 shows that Dublin's four local authorities are all at the top of the list when it comes to highest tax. 

The Irish Independent states that the lowest LPT tax is paid in Longford at an average of €122.81.

Dublin's average price for all the authorities combined is three times that at a staggering €325.94.

Dun Laoghaire Rathdown, has an average of €525.50. Dublin City is at €297.32, Fingal is not too far behind them at €293.38 while South Dublin is the lowest at €257.09.

Those in Wicklow pay a higher LPT than the bottom three Dublin authorities at €313.43 on average while Kildare (€253.77) and Meath (€233) are also in the mix.
