New Daft Report Shows Biggest Biggest Three Month Jump In Rents Since 2007

An analysis of recent trends in the Irish rental market for the third quarter of 2015 has had some unsurprising, yet unpleasant findings...

According to the Daft.ie Q3 report, the national average rent between July and September was €964, compared to €882 at the same time last year.

While Dublin has remained somewhat steady, cities outside of the Pale have seen massive increases in rent with Cork 13.5% higher than this time last year, and Galway 12% higher. The report also shows that the supply of accommodation to rent is at a meagre 4,000 properties across the country.

Based on these findings and the increase in homelessness in Ireland, it's about time rental regulation came into effect. Read the full report here.
