There’s A New Dancing Trend In Dublin And It Happens In The Dark

Imagine how differently you would dance if nightclubs were pitch black...

With the likes of Morning Gloryville selling out to brave morning ravers dragging themselves out of bed at 6am to dance their little hearts out, Dubliners seem to be moving away from the standard clubbing set-up. There's something very alluring about dancing as a form of exercise whilst sober in a club atmosphere, almost like you're breaking the rules - even though you're doing the exact opposite. We're delighted to see more events like that with amazing imagination cropping up that are, quite literally, thinking outside the box.

Enter Soda Bread Box, the latest trend in sober night-club themed fun. We could try to explain exactly what they do, but we think their website does so pretty clearly:

It's a no shame disco that's open to all ages, genders, backgrounds and demographics. Soda Bread Box takes place in a cosy, dimly lit room where you can dance whatever way you want - the emphasis is more on letting loose than being a world-class dancer.

Next Monday the lads will be hosting their eighth Soda Bread Box, and attendees are advised that "It’s a workout – you'll get hot and sweaty so bring a towel and some deodorant if you plan on doing something after."

We're definitely ditching our workout next Monday and going for a bop in the dark instead!
