Trinity College To Investigate Alleged “Offensive Comments” Made By Lecturer

Trinity College have confirmed that they are currently investigating alleged "offensive comments" made in a class last week.

The University Times states that the incident - which took place on Monday, 10th September - involved a new law lecturer and a Muslim student.

The student, who was wearing a headscarf, was asked by the lecturer to name the book that the lecturer was holding.

When the student was unable to identify the book, the lecturer allegedly said that "someone Irish might know the answer".

The student, who was born in Dublin, was also allegedly asked by the lecturer if "anyone had ever interfered with their bags before travelling."

Many students have since chosen to change module following the alleged comments.

Last week, it was revealed that Trinity was the 104th most employable college in the world.

However, another Dublin college finished 30 places above it.

As well as this, in an in-depth interview with a former drug dealer, the "most popular drug" in Trinity College was revealed and it wasn't cocaine, weed or MDMA.
