RTÉ is reporting that a big change is on the way for Vicar Street and fans of the famous music venue are not best pleased.
It is set to be redeveloped into a 185-bedroom, 4-star hotel which offers residents the chance to "rock and room".
It seems that planning permission has already been granted for the change and will see the venues capacity increase by around 500 seats.
In order to "rock and room", you will get a package of tickets, a room, a meal and membership to a new private club in the new hotel.
Peter Aiken, who has promoted shows at Vicar Street since its opening, said, "We are delighted to be involved with such an innovative scheme which will bring a new experience to our clients where they can relax after a show and not worry about getting home.
"We will increase the range of talent we present and enhance the whole experience of attending a concert."
However, the news has not been met with the same fantastic reaction on Twitter...

Why build another hotel that we don't want or need? Why destroy a venue like Vicar Street? It's the best comedy venue around the place and a wonderful venue in general. Why are Dublin City Council being allowed to rip the culture out of its own city?
