The fact that you can hear fireworks going off after darkness falls only means one thing: Halloween is very nearly here.
Not that big a fan of Halloween now that it doesn't involve wearing a black bin bag as a costume and getting free sweets? We're here to change that!
In order to get in the mood for the spooky season you need look no further than your reliable pal, Netflix. Whether you're looking for a giggle or to have the shit scared out of you, take your pick...
Because Halloween doesn't always have to be scary...
Up there with Hocus Pocus (which devastatingly isn't on Netflix), these guys started the 'all black errythang' trend.
Yes, you read that right: were-rabbit! With voice appearances from Ralph Fiennes and Helena Bonham Carter, this film is pure gold.
A comedy ripping the piss out of shitty zombie movies? Sold.
Films intended to terrify, that generally result in laughter at the sheer ridiculousness of them all.
Maybe this movie was actually scary when first released in 1996, but it has aged terribly. Watch purely for the brill 90s fashion doing the rounds and Drew Barrymore's flawless bob.
A movie about a lady's nether regions that has teeth which devour male genitalia. 'Nuff said.
Another one that time hasn't been kind to, but that will provide many a lol when watched with pals.
Ok so this film's obviously not intended to terrify but still. Watch it after watching Scream to get the full effect - the sequel is also on Netflix, should you feel like a double bill.
Chicken-shit or not, some of these movies will have you checking under your bed for monsters before you go to sleep...
