Dublin has become a city of cyclists in recent years but the people on the bikes still play second fiddle on the streets.

You can never park up your bike without fearing that it may be removed or stolen minutes later.

Sure, bike locks are great but even sometimes, thieves have their ways of getting what they want.

But, you should never make it this easy for them.

All you need to do here is pull the bike closer to the pole and you're able to flip off the chain, as many people on Reddit noticed.

We'd be very surprised if it wasn't gone by the time the owner returned to it.

This comes in the same week that Gardaí, supported by the Road Safety Authority and partner stakeholders ran a "Safer Roads for Dublin” campaign.

The aim of the initiative was to reduce the number and severity of road traffic collisions.

As part of the initiative Gardaí, the RSA and other stakeholders will encouraged safer behaviour on our roads by all road users, with particular emphasis on red light running, safe cycling and improved driver behaviour.

Road users were asked to be aware of their own and others safety.

Everyday, road users put themselves at risk by driving, cycling or crossing through red lights, by disregarding speed limits, or by having ineffective lighting on their vehicles.

The campaign encouraged road users to change poor behaviour and make the roads safer for all.

The Safer Roads for Dublin initiative was supported by the RSA, Dublin Bus, LUAS, TII (Transport Infrastructure Ireland), National Transport Authority and all four Local Authorities.
