Sandwich boards are an essential to a business. Seeing something funny on a board or a cheap meal deal that catches your eye could be the difference between you going in or going on to the next one.
Sure, they are big and we've at least bumped into one by accident at least once when we weren't looking where we were going.
However, Dublin pubs, restaurants, and cafés could actually see their notice boards removed by Dublin City Council if it's deemed to be unauthorised.
The Irish Times states that DCC has carried out more than 400 inspections since 2017.
Of the businesses inspected, it issued 31 warning notices in total and seized nine advertising boards.
Temple Bar businesses had the most inspections followed by Grafton Street, Capel Street, O’Connell Street and Westmoreland Street.
It's just a sign of the times, we suppose.
