This Is The 5-Bed Dublin House Where 70 Tenants Once Lived

Landlords of a house where up to 70 tenants once lived still haven't paid local authority's what they are owed in legal costs according to The Irish Independent. 

The Pines, Cabinteely, Co Dublin was found to be dangerously overcrowded and a special investigation by the publication showed that at one time, there was 70 people living in the five-bedroom property.

There was no written leases, cash-in-hand rent was form of payment and up to 36 people were sleeping in the basement. 

Mattresses were even spotted at the back of the house.

At the time, the judge stated that 60 tenants, paying €50 a week, would have been paying the owner more than €12,000 a month in rent. 

The Landlords of the 70-tenant house were told that they needed to pay costs of up to €60,000 to Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council but the fee has yet to be paid.
