PIC: Dublin Landlord Swipes 10 Referendum Polling Cards From Apartment Block

With more than 3.2 million Irish people registered to vote in tomorrow's referendum on the Eighth Amendment, people all over the country are getting their plan in place to vote. 

Polling cards have been sent out with details of polling stations, and for the estimated 125,000 people who are voting for the first time it's only natural that there may be some confusion as to where to vote and what to do.

A Lovin Dublin reader sent us in a photo of a sign left by her landlord in a Dublin 1 property after all resident's polling cards were removed by him. 

The landlord confirmed that 10 polling cards were delivered to the building but that the "mail has now been cleared" 

Our reader spotted the sign in the apartment hallway this morning and is naturally outraged that a) their landlord removed private mail, and b) details of every resident's polling station will now have to be requested personally by each tenant. 

"It just makes it so much more difficult to find out where to vote now", our reader says. 

It's the passive aggressive smiley face at the end of the note that really gets us. Is he trying to make it harder for the tenants to vote or is he just overly concerned about a clean hallway free of mail?

Either way, according to Citizens Information a landlord has no right to "take or retain a tenant’s property", so he best return all that mail quick...
