Three Popular Dublin Takeaways Ordered To Close In October Over Food Safety Concerns

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) states as of November 1st that seven Irish businesses were served with closure orders for breaches of food safety legislation for the month of September.

The businesses were located in Dublin (3), Kerry, Cork, Limerick and Louth and they are:

• Mike Sheahan Butchers, Church Street, Cahirciveen, Kerry
• Phoenix House, Unit 6 Riversdale Rathcormac, Cork
• Speedo Pizza Kebab, 41 Lord Edward Street, Limerick
• Regent Inn, Unit 3 Haymarket Drogheda, Louth
• Mi Thai, 87B Manor Street, Stoneybatter, Dublin 7
• Diner Thai & Chinese Takeaway, 1 Ongar Square, Ongar, Dublin 15
• Tasty Hut, 61 Dorset Street, Dublin 1

They included one Dublin Restaurant which was forced to close as "live and dead Insects were found throughout the premises".

These reports are issued under the FSAI Act, Official Control of Foodstuffs (S.I. No.117 of 2010) and prosecutions under food legislation

There is four types of orders:

• Closure Orders - remain on the website for 3 months from the date the order was lifted
• Improvement Orders - remain on the website for 3 months from the date the order was lifted
• Prohibition Orders - remain on the website for 1 month from the date the order was lifted
• Prosecutions - remain on the website for 3 months from the date the order was lifted
