This Artist’s Illustrations Of Dublin Place Names Are Amazing

Artist, Brian Lowry, from Stillorgan, created these illustrations with a very literal take on Dublin place names.

From Chapelizod portrayed as a lizard in bishop's clothing to the dolphins swimming through an orange barn as Dolphins Barn – each one is intended to resemble 'a walk through Dublin through the eyes of a five-year-old.'

The inspiration stemmed from the fact that I am about to become a father in September. Originally I wanted to create unique artwork for our son's nursery. Having imagined these places as a toddler myself – Poolbeg towers being a cloud making factory – I wanted to give him an imaginative journey through Dublin that we can take with us no matter where we live in the future.
